Background
29 July was the date at which Microsoft has started pushing its Windows 10 upgrade to eligible PC’s that reserved their free copy of Windows 10.
Eligible PC is a personal PC that has Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 with suitable hardware.
Reserving a free copy of Windows 10 can be done using the Get Windows 10 app icon. This icon appears on the taskbar if only you installed the latest Windows updates from Windows.
After reservation of your free copy you will be told to wait until Windows notify you once it finished downloading the Windows 10 upgrade in the background.
Failures to get the free Windows 10
Internet and network issues may prevent your PC from receiving the Windows 10 upgrade correctly.
If you want to know what is happening to your Windows 10 downloading process in the background, you may check the “view update history” in the Windows update utility.
